Self-reflection and mindfulness activities in the ELT classroom

13/04/2024 | 11:00 - 12:30

Learning is never a linear process – like all life’s journeys it has its ups and downs. As most of the learning reality our students are exposed to is outcome-oriented, they often find themselves focusing on the result rather than becoming aware of their learning progress. In this hands-on workshop, participants will engage in a series of activities that aim at making our students more appreciative of the present moment in their learning journey, showing them the way towards becoming reflective of their progress and ultimately familiarising them with the idea that success involves lots of setbacks that can become learning experiences if we decide to treat them as such. From reflective journal writing to goal-setting exercises, this workshop is about the significance of pausing and reflecting on our learning moments!
