Exam prep courses are often associated with teaching-to-the-test practices that contribute very little to learners’ language development and progress. In this 90-minute webinar we will unlock the power of student-driven learning in the exam classroom as we experiment together with innovative and practical activities designed to enhance all four language skills. We will start with an overview of exam courses, their characteristics and challenges and move on to see how activities and teaching practices can be adapted to have a learner-centered focus as well as explore strategies that can promote learner autonomy and empower learners to take charge of their exam preparation journey.

Learning is never a linear process – like all life’s journeys it has its ups and downs. As most of the learning reality our students are exposed to is outcome-oriented, they often find themselves focusing on the result rather than becoming aware of their learning progress.
